Avengers: Infinity War
We haven’t seen a movie that created such a frenzy since a long time and now fans over the world are excited for Avengers: Infinity War. After all, the full movie has been selling out cinema halls everywhere. One assumes that the rush to watch Marvel’s most daring production to date once it is released for free will be just as frenetic.
The idea of uniting every single hero the Marvel Universe has ever created under the umbrella of a single film seemed like a ridiculous when the Russo Brothers first came on board as directors. Such a movie had no business ever seeing the light of day, let alone achieving the level of success that this one has began to accrue. And yet, April 27th 2018 rolled around, Marvel put Infinity War in theaters and judging by the initial social media reactions online, the Russo Brothers did the impossible.
They actually delivered a two hour forty minute blockbuster featuring over thirty of Marvel’s biggest character, and did so while telling a coherent, alluring, engaging story. To say that Marvel has reached the peak of movie-making mountains wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
Everything You Should Know
The end has finally come. Six years ago, Loki brought war to the city of New York. The God of mischief did so in service of Thanos, a tyrannical being from another galaxy hellbent on collecting the Infinity Stones.
Loki was charged with subjugating the earth and reclaiming the cosmic cube, a tool containing one of the stones, but failed in his endeavor. Over the course of a dozen or so movies, Thanos moved behind the scenes, working through other puppets like the Dark Elf Malekith to claim the stones.
And in each case, he was met with further failure, falling to the machinations of The Avengers, The Guardians Of The Galaxy and several other heroes that littered the Universe. If you’re patient you can watch Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, finally stepping into the field and taking active steps to collect all the stones.
The stones were created at the beginning of the Universe, singularities within which lay the power to manipulate the fabric of the Universe. Thanos’ goal is to unite the stones and use their incredible might to kill half the universe, the purpose being to bring about balance.
Fractured by the events of Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers must cast aside old quarrels and unite to stop a madman who believes that he must kill half of humanity to save the universe.
A Film That Live Up To The Hype
Some people believe Avengers: Infinity War is the best movie Marvel has ever made. Others, like the critics online, are quick to point out the few flaws the Russo Brothers couldn’t escape.
Most such viewers agree that Avengers: Infinity War definitely lives up to the hype. The flick is an incredible mesh of action, adventure, humor, and tragedy. Rarely has Marvel succeeded at hitting the highest of highs as far as fun and entertainment are concerned whilst at the same time taking audiences down some truly traumatic paths.
The Marvel Universe has spent a good six years teasing the idea of Thanos. Even precluding the importance of balancing so many significant characters, the Russo Brothers had to deliver on the promise.
They had to prove to us that he was indeed the incredibly terrifying, shockingly alluring antagonist that so many characters had whispered about in previous movies. And they did just that in the first five or so minutes of what will go down in history as one of the most epic superhero movies one can ever watch.
After the events of Thor Ragnarok the remnants of Asgard are assaulted by Thanos and his forces, with viewers getting their first glimpse at the true might of the Mad Titan. And he makes quick work of the greatest warriors in the cosmos.
Thor only escapes through sheer luck, a development that brings him into contact with the Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Before he can face Thanos, Thor must get himself a new weapon that can match the might of Mjolnir, his fallen hammer. While he busies himself with this task, aided by Starlord and crew, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have to muster up a resistance against the Black Order.
The Black Order has been tasked with retrieving Vision who so happens to possess one of the Infinity Stones for free. Letting him fall into the hands of Thanos would accelerate humanity’s doom. While Captain America and Black Panther prepare Earth’s defenses, Iron Man, Spiderman and Doctor Strange are off on their own side quest that they hope will stop the villain before he gets to earth.
The Final Result
As anyone who chooses to watch the film will tell you this is an ambitious undertaking. The Russo Brothers succeed in bringing all the complex pieces of what should be an impossible project together because they elevate Thanos, making him the primary character of the story.
The events of Infinity War are explored from Thanos’ perspective, with the rest of the Avengers being relegated to supporting roles. The breakout star is both frightening and sympathetic, a murderous figure with surprising depth.
While you do not necessarily support his objectives, watching each new minute of the anti hero makes it very difficult for you to hate him. The character has definitely joined the pantheon of greatest villains in cinematic history.
When the Russo Brothers aren’t fleshing out all the intriguing facets of the characters online, they are busy delivering top-notch action, hilarious dialogue, and unrivaled CGI.
